Federal Work-Study (FWS) is a federally-funded program of part-time employment for students with financial need. This program allows you to earn money to help pay for your educational expenses. The number of hours worked is determined by need, up to a maximum of 24 hours per week. Receipt of FWS is dependent upon securing a student employee position in various departments on campus, or at an off campus location. To be considered for an FWS position, you must complete a Student Employee Application at http://jobs.lqqqhuanbao.com and apply for the positions in which you are interested. The Office of Financial Aid determines eligibility using federal guidelines. Funds are awarded on a first come, first served basis.
Annual award amount: Varies based on eligibility
Enrollment required: You must be registered for 6 or more credit hours for two out of the three semesters per academic year. You can request a “Free Semester” which allows you to be enrolled in less than 6 credit hours and continue to work as a Student Employee for one semester in the academic year. The academic year begins with the summer semester and ends with the spring semester. If your “Free Semester” is summer, you do not have to be registered for summer as long as you are already registered for at least 6 credit hours for the fall semester. If your “Free Semester” is either fall or spring, you must be registered for a minimum of 3 credit hours. To use this option, email studentemployment@lqqqhuanbao.com from your Owens email account and state which semester you would like to use as your “free semester.”
