Certificate Details
Our students gain knowledge to appropriately assign medical codes to diagnoses, symptoms, and operative procedures using the various medical coding systems. Graduates make use of the ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and CPT coding systems.
Credits earned in this certificate may be applied toward the Health Information Technology, AAS (Owens Code: HINF) program if you wish to pursue certification as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT).
NOTE: To be admitted to the Medical Coding certificate you must first apply to the College and then (after being admitted to Owens) apply to the Medical Coding certificate.
