For over 40 years, Owens Community College’s Surgical Technology department has been preparing students for careers as vital members of surgical teams.

As a Surgical Technologist, you will work alongside surgeons, registered nurses, and anesthesiologists to ensure proper surgical case management. Your role will involve preparing and passing all sterile instruments during surgical procedures, maintaining the sterile field, and anticipating the needs of the surgeon.

The goal of our program is to equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary to gain employment as entry-level surgical technologists and to become contributing members of the healthcare team.
