Our Northwest Ohio Paramedic School will prepare you for a career as a Paramedic in Ohio with a National Registry certification.

This quality program provides cutting edge, hands-on education in our state-of-the-art Center for Emergency Preparedness.

This program is great for interested students in both Michigan and Ohio. Owens Paramedic classes are located within driving distance of southern Michigan and northwest Ohio.

The Owens Community College Paramedic program goal is to prepare Paramedics who are competent in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills) and affective (behavior) learning domains to enter the profession.

About the Owens Paramedic Program

The Owens Paramedic Program is designed for current EMT Basic or Intermediates to complete the principles of advanced care and EMS operations.

Our Paramedic classes follow the Department of Transportation (DOT) standards, State of Ohio requirements, as well as the national standard curriculum.

Individuals who successfully complete the courses will be eligible to take the National Registry exam and receive state certification through the Ohio Department of Public Safety (ODPS).

Prerequisites for admission into the Owens Paramedic Program include:

  • Current and active State of Ohio EMT-Basic or EMT-Intermediate certification
  • Anatomy and physiology
  • Current and active driver's license
  • Current AHA provider CPR card
