Pipe Welding Certificate (Owens Code: ZPWL)
This certificate provides students with knowledge and skill for job placement in the welding field. Students are trained in all aspects of welding including stick, gas, metal inert gas (MIG) and tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding processes.
Credits earned in this certificate may be applied toward another certificate or the Welding Major, AAS (Owens Code: WELD).

At this time, this certificate does not qualify for federal financial aid, which includes grants, loans, and work-study. If cost is a barrier, please speak with an Oserve advocate for additional information.
Accreditation
The American Welding Society (AWS) certifies Owens Community College has met all of the requirements of the AWS QC4, Standard for Accreditation of Test Facilities for AWS Certified Welding Program, and is accredited through October 1, 2019.
The AWS Accredited Test Facility (ATF) program establishes minimum requirements for test facilities, their personnel and equipment to qualify for accreditation to test and qualify welders. The program requires that a facility implement a quality assurance program that meets the requirements established in the AWS QC4-89, Standard for the Accreditation of Testing Facilities. The requirements include that the facility have a Quality Manual that controls the activities related to the testing of welders in the facility according to AWS QC7, Standard for AWS Certified Welders.
