The Culinary Arts Program prepares you with the skills and knowledge necessary for a successful career in the rapidly growing culinary arts industry.

In your culinary education & training, you will complete a combination of management, nutrition and menu design courses, in addition to instruction in fundamental, intermediate and advanced culinary skills.

From baking to recipe development to restaurant management and food safety, the culinary school at Owens Community College will prepare you for your career in food & beverage.

About the Owens Culinary Arts Program

The Owens Community College Culinary Arts Program is located conveniently in northwest Ohio within driving distance of southern Michigan.

The Program reinforces these skills through hands-on experience in the culinary arts field during the cooperative work experience and the student-run restaurant, The Terrace View Café.

You will learn skills in baking & pastry, international cuisines, fine dining, and gourmet cooking and gain a robust education in culinary techniques. You will also gain skills in restaurant management, kitchen skills & staff training, and even banquet operation and catering.

Graduates of the Culinary Arts Program find job opportunities as chefs and sous chefs, supervisors of food preparation workers, food service managers, chefs in health care facilities and private chefs.

Upon graduation, you are eligible to receive the Certified Culinarian (CC) credential from the American Culinary Federation.

If you are interested in training for entry-level food service positions, you should explore the Baking and Pastry Certificate (Owens Code: ZBPD) or Culinary Arts Certificate (Owens Code: ZCAB).
